Transforming Travel

Please.com’s protocol and marketplace promote decentralization and progressively brings it mainstream through the travel industry. Thanks to our xApp approach, we’re one of the very few grandma-friendly blockchain projects. Our architecture is flexible, scalable, and can be used by other projects whether they’re centralized, decentralized or hybrid.

Our marketplace and our bot ARE ALREADY LIVE

Our Protocol

We bring the goodness of decentralization to everyone. The first platform to be built on the protocol is Please.com! Our protocol has:

  • A set of smart contracts to allow service providers to publish their service on the Blockchain
  • A set of oracles to access the right data on the Blockchain
  • A set of proxies to access smart contracts by non-blockchain apps
  • A hybrid portal to access both the centralized and decentralized services in an easy and seamless manner

Our xApp approach

Or how to be grandma-friendly

Websites have long been gracefully degraded and progressively enhanced. It appears that many DApps and Protocol developers have completely ignored this fact, but we haven’t. Our cross-platform app (xApp) is a set of methodologies and good practices to develop an API-first and Protocol-first architecture for the future of the web. We have not reinvented the wheel, we're just using today's best practices.

The Please.com Marketplace

Our xApp's first facet

Our marketplace offers a fresh approach to book online travel; travellers can not only save hours but also customise trips across traditional, decentralized, and sharing economies.

  • Sleep in more than 2.1m hotels and homes
  • Eat in more than 1.2m restaurants and local tables
  • Spend quality time at our 100k tours and activities
  • Earn money by inviting travelers to your home, cooking, or sharing your passion with them
image description

You can book services from

The Please.bot chatbot

Our xApp's second facet

Voice is the future. Consumers are increasingly using their voice assistants at home and are looking for new ways to save time. Our bot is cross-platform and will guide travelers throughout their journey.

  • Chat interactively to find your next trip across centralized and decentralized services
  • Get interactive information before, during and after a trip
  • Service providers get real-time booking information and statistics for their services
  • Book directly through the bot for certain platforms
  • Available on Messenger, Telegram, Google Home, Alexa, etc.

Our Token

To keep the platform vibrant and active with engaged users, we have created our own rewards system based on a digital token called PLS. We award these tokens to travelers, service providers and trip creators as they use our marketplace.

image description

Tokenomics

Acquiring

The amount of PLS to be received will be calculated based on one’s EthicRank in order to reward the best members of our community.

  • Buy them on an exchange
  • Book trips, Curate trips, Provide services
  • Open source contributions
  • Social Media sharing (eg. retweeting)
  • Receive tips from other users

Staking

Please Prime Costs $49 per year and is due in PLS which are locked and returned back to the customer after one year, this is staking for the masses.

Please Assembly members can increase their voting power by staking PLS.

  • Vote on prioritizing features
  • Vote on allocation of the Global Reward Pool
  • Vote on special badges/awards (curator of the year, best service provider, etc.)
  • ...

Spending

PLS can be used throughout our platform and ecosystem. For example:

  • Pay for trips and services
  • Buy ads on our platform
  • Sponsor new feature development requests
  • Tip other users of the platform (for curating trips, providing good services, leaving helpful reviews, etc.)

Our Roadmap

2017

Initial idea

The perfect melting pot: The travel industry is too fragmented, blockchain applications are rising, people are looking for more authentic travel experiences

PoT Development starts

The objective was to find and test different technical solutions (Proof of Technology)

Hybrid platform pivot

Following the cryptokitties impact on Ethereum, we decided not to rely completely on the Blockchain and steer development towards an even more hybrid architecture

2018

MVP development starts

After the PoT was complete, we started developing our MVP with a much nicer UI, the objective was to demonstrate searching trips and services through voice and deploying services as smart contracts

MVP Release + Production development starts

The beta version was working as expected and we started migrating towards a more robust and scalable architecture. We decided to focus on the centralized part of our xApp and push the decentralized part to after our ICO

Partners Outreach

We have reached a development stage that allows us to start reaching out to partners. We already got some good feedback and are undergoing partnership discussions

Trip Creators feedback loop

We have reached out to several trip creators (influencers, guide books, etc.) and have already incorporated a lot of their feedback in our product

Production launch: Please.com & Please.bot

Our first production-ready products are our marketplace and our chatbot. We are now able to start gathering people to create many trips on our platform.

PreICO

The aim of the PreICO is to give us a head start to work on the decentralized parts of our platform, namely our Blockchain protocol

Online Advertising Campaigns

We will have enough trips to start the online advertising campaigns to bring travelers on our platform just in time for the 1st summer booking rush happening just after christmas

2019

ICO

Our ICO acts as our first funding round to accomplish our vision to build and promote the first user-friendly travel platform to bridge the gap between centralized and decentralized services

Exchanges listing

Following the end of our token sale, PLS will be listed on exchanges

Production launch: "Trips mobile app"

We will launch our mobile app with an innovative UI to find and book trips quickly and easily on the go

Production launch: "Decentralized services on Ethereum"

After optimising and auditing our smart contracts, we'll be ready to launch our first decentralized features in a production environment. Auditor will be selected by a Please Assembly vote.

Production launch: "Decentralized services on 2nd blockchain"

After optimising our infrastructure and developing our second set of smart contracts, we'll be ready to bring our second selected blockchain in our production environment

Marketing Campaign: "Expansion in key cities"

One year after our initial launch, we will know a lot about our users. Our infrastructure and features will be optimized to attract a new massive influx of travelers, trip creators, and service providers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who can participate in the token sale?

PLS are considered as utility tokens as opposed to an investment. As such, anybody can participate unless purchasing/ownership of digital tokens is forbidden in your country. As such, individuals from China cannot participate.

  • What will happen to unsold tokens?

They will be sent to our global reward pool. Token holders decide on the allocation of the Global Reward Pool

  • Why do you have no Soft Cap?

Since our project is already live, we do not have a soft cap. We will continue to develop the project with available resources even if we sell 0 PLS during our token sale. We sell our tokens in order to raise funds to speed up our development and scale our project to the right competitive level.

  • How many tokens are allocated to PreICO/ICO?

650m tokens are allocated to our PreICO and ICO combined. If all of them are sold during our PreICO, there will be no ICO.

  • When can I start using my PLS?
    • PLS purchased through our website will be usable on our centralized website from the moment they are purchased.
    • All PLS, aka the ones purchased through our smart contract and through our website will be transferable on the blockchain within two weeks after the token sale ends.
  • Will there be a bonus during the ICO?

No. If you want a bonus, you should participate in our PreICO and receive 20% bonus.

  • Will you require participants to KYC/AML?

As required by many regulations and financial institutions who may work with us, we will require all participants of our token sale to undergo KYC/AML verifications.

  • Will you mint/create more PLS?

No. The total token supply is fixed as specified in our smart contract.

  • What are the min/max amounts to participate in the token sale?

In order to ensure the majority of our users can participate, we have set a low minimum participation amount of 1,000 PLS ($36 during the ICO or $30 during the PreICO). There is no maximum.

  • Which currencies can I use to participate?

We use Coinbase Commerce to process payments on our website. Coinbase Commerce supports payments in BTC, ETH, BCH, LTC. Participations in our Smart Contract can only be made in ETH.
